A Limerick for Writing 201 challenge

Is there room to dock a bucket in Nantucket?

There was a young girl from Nantucket

Who sailed the seven seas in a bucket.

It rusted right through

And that was her clue

To head to the shore and just dock it!

I laughed heartily when I read the email about today’s Writing 201 challenge today.  I spent a couple of weeks in America last Summer, mainly to meet up with my daughter in New York.  But before that, I visited Cape Cod,  Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.

And Nantucket seemed to inspire the limerick in me and my partner – and all my long suffering extended family who were given the first line of the limerick whenever I could steal an opportunity.   So, for the last few months, we have been toying with this limerick although it is only today that I have found something that is suitable for publishing as a last line!

Please enjoy……and happy Writing 201

Please share your thoughts, hopes and dreams!
