At last, I have finally, after many months, finished the first draft of a children’s tale that I have been writing.
I have had the story rumbling about in my head for so long but I couldn’t make it to the finale in a way that felt right.
It is a rhyming story, and that in itself poses a great deal of problems. I didn’t want it to sound forced or wooden! And it so easily can with rhyme. But I am pleased, at least with the conclusion.
But now, time to leave it alone; it is not ready for public consumption quite yet. As with most creative writing, once the first draft is done, that is the time to leave it in the desk/on file and forget it. Revision, revisiting takes some time to develop so I will leave it alone!
